Liar and Spy

This week I read a book called Liar and Spy by Rebecca Stead. It is about a boy named Georges who moves to apartment building in Brooklyn. He meets this 12 year old boy who turns out to be a spy, and this book is pretty much about their adventures. It is written in first person and it a really good book. It is a quick read, and an adventurous book. This book is also a book about friendship and bravery and I recommend it for anyone.

A Crooked Kind of Perfect

A Crooked Kind of Perfect by Linda Urban

This book is about a girl who has a HUGE dream of playing piano. For now, Zoe (the girl) is stuck with the Perfectone 6 (or something) which is an organ. Her wish keeps growing as she improves her organ skills, but she dreams of preforming at Cargine Hall, where anything can happen. When she gets to the Perform-o-Rama, almost everything changes. This is a really quick read, and it is written in first person. It is about 200 or so pages but the description is really good. It is a little different from other book I have read, because some books I read were based on stereotypes but his book is very unique and pretty different than others.

The Center of Everything

The Center of Everything by Linda Urban

This book is about a girl named Ruby who is elected Essay Girl in the Bunning Day Parade. She wrote an essay about Bunning Day, which is a day that celebrated Captain Bunning, who invented donuts. She is a very smart girl, and she is always following the rules. She has a wish, but will it come true? This book is written in third person, and sometimes it switches to second person. This is a adventurous book, but not the BEST I've ever read. I recommend it for people who like books that are a quick read, and who like books that are a little bit of a mystery. There are 208 pages.

Out of My Mind

Out of My Mind by Sharon M Draper

Let me start with this. This is a great book, one of the best I've ever read. It is about a 10 year old girl named Melody, who has a perfect memory. She remembers everything, it's as if she has a camera in her head and it records everything. She is the smartest kid in her entire school, but no one knows. Her mom and Mrs. V (her neighbor) believe that Melody is smart. But they are not completely sure. Melody has a disease that causes her to have no control on her body, and she needs help. She can't walk, write, or even talk. It's as is mountains of words are piling up in Melody's head but she just can't say them. It is a VERY good book. It seems really realistic fiction, and it is in first person. It is a really quick read, I read it in 2 days and it is 295 pages. I recommend it for anyone in AS, because it is a very interesting book and you all should read it.
