The boy in the striped pajamas

This week I read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas By John Boyne. This book is about a nine-year-old boy named Bruno who has a perfect wealthy life, living in a house with 5 floors! One day he comes back from school and sees his maid, Maria, packing up all his belongings. He asks her, where they are going and she answers that they are moving due to his Fathers job as a soldier. When he arrives at his new home, he hates it. No one to play with, nothing to do, and so he decides to go explore. He finds a little boy his age, in striped pj's sitting on the ground looking down. They become friends and then, dun dun dun.... This book is a little sad and not for younger people so it is more of a advanced level of reading. It has lots of good description, and I really enjoyed it.

This week I read wonder

This week I read a book called Wonder by R. J Palacio. This book is about a boy who has a medical issue with his face that he was born with and now, after a bunch of surgeries, 10-year-old August Pullman decides to start middle school at a real school. This is a major change since for all his life, he's been home schooled. At first, everyone makes fun of him but will that change throughout the year? This book is very touching and sweet and makes you wonder about August and how he looks like. I really recommend this book for people who would like to laugh, get a little sad, and other mixed feelings. I think that  this is a unique book with a good plot. This book has many parts of other people's perspectives, by the way.

Week 7 Flutter

This week I read a book called Flutter by Erin E. Moulton. This book is about a girl named Maple and her two sisters one older, Dawn, and the younger, Beetle. Their mom gives birth to a girl that they decide to name Lily but she is weak and sick and might not make it through the night. After hearing many stories about the Wise Woman, a spirit that is very powerful and can grant miracles, Maple decides to find her by herself and ask for a miracle to cure Lily. Dawn sees that Maple is acting suspicious so Maple tells Dawn about going and all that. Together, they will have to walk many miles to find the Wise Woman and grant that one miracle.  This is a touching, adventurous book that is also a little sad, but I couldn't take my eyes off of it. It is a very good book for both genders. Erin also wrote a book called Tracing Stars.

Overnight Reading

This week I read a book called Masterpiece by Elise Broach. It was a book about a beetle who lives in a cupboard in the Pompaday's household. The beetles name is Marvin, and he really likes to explore the house-but hidden, for he must not be seen. One day Mrs.Pompaday's son, James, who is a sophisticated, now eleven year old boy who has his birthday. Marvin decides to find him a present with his family and finds it, a rare quarter. But when Marvin climbs up onto James' desk to put his present there- dun dun dun!!!!

This book is a strange book that is easy to read and is a little babyish, but has lot's of description. At some points it was confusing, but then you would understand. It has pictures, and is 320 pages.
